Just an update while I have the time. I have been so so so busy getting things organized since school started. I pretty much had to crash all of my classes and even though it’s been two weeks I still don’t have a 100% set schedule. For awhile I only had 3 classes and [...]

It’s 2009!
Holy crap, it feels like just yesterday it was 2007 and I was graduating high school. The thought of getting older really freaks me out, not to mention the thought of getting old. Anyway, I figured I was overdue for a real blog so here I am. My laptop battery finally took a dump the other day so I’ve been using my old desktop computer. Dell wants something like 200 bucks for a new battery… are you kidding me? Apparently batteries aren’t even covered under warranty- what the hell? I’m seriously considering opting for a mac for my next laptop.
I have a million things to say so I think I’m gonna’ ring in the New Year’s blog with a few lists. First off, the oh so cliché resolutions of 2009. Now, I thought about not making any resolutions this year because there’s something about human nature that condemns us to failure when it comes to resolutions… but I thought about it and decided to write some down anyway for the sake of remembering. In the past few weeks I’ve realized that it’s time to get serious about some of the things I set out to do so from now on I’m determined to not just “skate by” anymore.
- Learn French; I’ve decided that in summer of 2010 I really want to travel to Paris and start seeing the world. I’ll have the chance to catch up with a few international students I met last spring and my big sis might even want to come too she’s in love with Paris. Now, I never really planned on learning French, I mean, I love the language but I always thought it would be more beneficial to learn Spanish because everyone here speaks that. I was always self conscious to try to speak Spanish because so many natives are around to judge. So in 2009 I resolve to try to learn as much French as I can and speak it without feeling self conscious to speak it. I’ll embrace my horrible accent. Who knows, my Spanish basics will probably help me, and in the long run I want to attempt to learn both French and Spanish (ambitious, right?) – but for 2009 I’ll just focus on French first for the sake of my trip.
- Learn guitar; This has always been my dream and this year I plan to take more active steps in achieving it, starting this semester I’m enrolling in a beginner guitar class at my university.
- Exercise more; Yeah, everyone makes this one but seriously- that dorm food as not done me any good for two years in a row and I need to take advantage of the free on campus gym membership while I can because next year I’m going to be living off campus (YES! More later.)
- Get a job; I know I had this one last year too and I ended up not getting one, but this year I am going to start saving up for my trip! Plus, making my own money just plain makes me feel good… and on top of that I’m going to need it for food and rent next fall.
- Be bold and individualistic; This year I plan to make more bold choices with my style and be confident with it. I love color and fun prints and I’m not going to buy things because I think they’ll fit better into my wardrobe. This year I’m going opt for the brighter, bolder, and more fun looks.
- Be a better morning person; This year I will try as hard as I can to not just roll out of bed a mess to class, I want to put my new style choices to good use!
- Focus on school; My gpa needs some boosting since high school, but more importantly I resolve to learn and remember the things I am taught that will benefit me in the future- especially for language (French) and public health (my major) classes.
Now, a to-do list before school starts on the 22nd (my break is longer than yours
)
- Call Dell and complain; buy new laptop battery.
- Try to move eye doctor appointment to ASAP (I left all of my refill contacts at school
)
- Figure out my tentative schedule of classes for next semester (Last priority registration = fail)
- Try to get the job thing on a roll for when I get back.
- Call apartment complexes again for info (I left my list back at school and down payments are already this month…)
- Start this scholarship application that I think I have a pretty damn good shot at getting – due in March.
- Put together page for selling DIY items… oh yes, I want to do it!
- Sell some things on eBay.
And finally, just some random stuff on my mind:
- So, I’ve decided to get an apartment next Fall and I couldn’t be happier. In the end I’ll have a much better time doing this than living in the dorms again. I didn’t get a call for resident adviser next semester, and even though they could still offer it to me in the fall I’m not going to rely on that when down payments for apartments are already going to be due. And if I didn’t get it at all- NO WAY I’m doing dorms for a third year, haha.
- I’m getting PINK pots and pans for my new apartment’s kitchen
- My boyfriend has been out of town for every week day of my break but I can’t wait to see him this weekend and head out to Glamis with our friends!
- I need to organize my room… I think the problem is I have so much stuff now it’s impossible to keep it all organized.
- My closet is too small for all my clothing.
- If you have any furniture you are planning to get rid of (and actually know me) please opt on giving it to me for my new, unfurnished apartment before you throw it out!
- My sleep cycle needs SERIOUS fixing.
- I’m kind of excited for the MAC Hello Kitty line coming out in February even though I’ve never been a big fan. Something tells me I could make a lot of money selling these things later on ebay, too: click and CLICK. Wowww.
- …..THE END! I love you if you actually read this BAHEMITH of a blog.
More more thing; on a closing note I just realized I have my resolutions from TWO YEARS AGO, my SENIOR YEAR of high school on this computer. (I’ll really cherish this, I’m so glad my English teacher assigned it- I actually really enjoyed the assignment at the time, too) . I know I had this in a blog previously but since then it’s been lost so I think I will take the time to repost and reminisce it now
. Enjoy!
